Dr James Peerless

Dr James Peerless been working as a consultant at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust since 2018, and holds private practising privileges at Wells Health and Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital. He qualified from the University of Leeds in medicine and surgery in 2008 whilst also attaining a first-class intercalated degree in anatomy (2006).

Dr Peerless completed his anaesthetic training in Kent and London hospitals within the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery. He completed advanced training in obstetric anaesthesia at St Thomas’ Hospital, and paediatric anaesthesia at Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Dr Peerless was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2014, and as an Associate Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine in 2021. As part of his commitment to medical education, he was admitted as a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators in 2018.

Complementing his clinical practice, Dr Peerless is an honorary senior lecturer at King’s College London and is an undergraduate educational and clinical supervisor in emergency medicine and critical care. He is also very involved in postgraduate anaesthetic training and is currently a local College Tutor with the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
